Meeting Description:

The advances of technology and materials have prompted to do minimally invasive dentistry in the last decade. The ideal goal of preserving tooth structures has been possible with new materials to replace missing tooth structures.
There are many presentations that cover minimally invasive dentistry either hard or soft tissue.
This presentation will cover patients who were treated 6-12 years ago with minimally invasive dentistry. The full mouth rehabilitation cases include restoration of occlusal vertical dimension, pseudo class III, amelogenesis imperfecta and Bulimia nervosa.

The presentation will cover the steps of treatment with the explanation of the philosophy of the procedures.

Learning Objectives

  1. Describe the principles of minimally invasive dentistry and the role of contemporary materials and technologies in preserving natural tooth structure.
  2. Evaluate the long-term clinical outcomes of minimally invasive restorative treatments based on 6-12 year follow-up data.
  3. Describe how to apply minimally invasive treatment approaches to the rehabilitation of patients with tooth wear, altered occlusal vertical dimension, and complex functional and esthetic concerns. 
  4. Identify indications for minimally invasive restorative management in patients with conditions such as amelogenesis imperfecta, bulimia nervosa, and pseudo Class III malocclusion.

Biography of Dr. Farhad Vahidi

Farhad Vahidi, D.M.D., M.S.D. FACP, is Tenured Associate Professor of Department of Prosthodontics, New York University College of Dentistry.  A former Program Director for the Advanced Education Program in Prosthodontics and the Advanced Program for International Dentists in Prosthodontics at this institution. A full-time faculty at New York University, College of dentistry for 40 years, He also involves in private practice limited to prosthodontics in Manhattan.

 He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics and Fellow of the American College of Prosthodontics, Life Fellow of the Greater New York Academy of Prosthodontics and the Northeastern Gnathological Society.  He is the past President of Northeastern Gnathological Society an active member of the many dental organization including American academy of Esthetic Dentistry and American dental association. He has published many articles in peer review dental Journals as well as chapters in textbooks and presented in many national and international oral health organizations.
