I am honored to be nominated for the position of Foundation Board Director, and I am excited to share a brief overview of my background and experience with you. As a proud native of Jamaica, I carry the values of community and service with me wherever I go. My journey in the dental field began with undergraduate degrees in Dental Hygiene and Biology from Northern Caribbean University (NCU) and Medgar Evers College of the City University of New York (CUNY), respectively. This strong foundation propelled me to pursue higher education, and I earned my Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from Howard University in Washington, DC. My commitment to excellence led me to further specialize in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, and I am currently the owner of Infinity Orthodontics, a thriving private practice in Washington, DC. Every day, I have the privilege of creating beautiful smiles and positively impacting the lives of my patients. Having served as a board member for the past year, I have gained invaluable insights into the intricacies of our profession and the unique challenges facing our community. This experience has deepened my understanding of the importance of collaboration, strategic planning, and effective communication in achieving our collective goals.
Beyond my professional endeavors, I am deeply passionate about giving back. I am the co-founder of a non-profit organization dedicated to providing dental health services and education to underserved communities in developing countries, like Jamaica. This commitment to philanthropy aligns with my belief that oral health is a fundamental human right, and I am eager to bring this perspective to the Foundation Board. In my leisure time, I enjoy blogging, traveling, crafting divinely scented candles, and cherishing moments with family and close friends. These diverse experiences contribute to my holistic approach to leadership, understanding the importance of creativity, adaptability, and empathy in achieving our shared mission. I am excited about the opportunity to contribute further to the DC Dental Society as a Foundation Board Director, leveraging my skills, experiences, and passion for service to advance our collective vision. Thank you for considering my nomination.

I have been a spokesperson and consumer advisor for the American Dental Association since 2001 and have served in the ADA’s House of Delegates since 2004. I have been nominated as the Local Arrangements Chair for the 2025 ADA SmileCon here in Washington, DC. I have served on and chaired the American Academy of Periodontology’s Clinical Practice Committee and have lectured locally and nationally on periodontics, communication and leadership.
My numerous experiences on the local and national level have given me insight into the DC Dental Society’s strengths and challenges and I will continue to help the next generation of dentists succeed as leaders. I know the importance of keeping our members informed and involved about issues on the local and national levels. As your DCDS Secretary, I will continue to advocate for our members to ensure that you are kept informed on any issues that may affect you and your practices.
