No. The longer meetings and addition of 2 webinars means that you will actually have the opportunity to earn more CE through DCDS this year than last year. Any member who attends all monthly meetings and both webinars will earn a total of 17 CE credits, while someone who attended all of last year’s meetings would have earned a total of 16 CE credits.

The Spring Meeting, which will take place on March 29 at the Georgetown University Conference Center, is a one-day event that was created with the purpose of ensuring that all DCDS members have the opportunity to obtain the CE required for license renewal. We believe that this meeting is especially important now, given the recent changes to licensing requirements made by the DC Board of Dentistry. This event is not just open to dentists, but also to hygienists and dental assistants, and DCDS members will have access to a special group discount in addition to individual discounts and early registration.

• Modernizing our CE practices to ensure that our offerings keep pace with other ADA constituent societies, as well as the healthcare field in general
• Reducing staff time, and thus reducing cost to the Society
• Eliminating the waiting period for attendees to receive their CE by allowing them to download, print, and email CE certificates immediately following the conclusion of the meeting.

All registered participants will be able to access the mobile-friendly website using their existing ADA ID number and a provided password, so there is no need to create a new user name or password. Registered attendees will receive a message with instructions as well as a link to the system. At the conclusion of the meeting you will be given a code, which you enter into the online system. . This code will verify your attendance and give you access to a meeting evaluation and a brief quiz that contains up to four session-specific questions. Once you answer these questions correctly (you will have unlimited tries to do this, so you cannot “fail” the quiz), you will have the ability to access and download your CE certificate at your convenience.

While members adjust to this new system, DCDS staff will provide handouts at the meetings that will include the quiz questions, as well as a place to write down the meeting code. It is imperative that all attendees take note of the verification code. Staff will not be permitted to provide the code to you if you lose it. It is also very important that all attendees make sure that they are registered for the meeting, as only registered attendees will be able to access the system.
